A safe, welcoming space to talk about the challenges of living with cancer
The centre focuses on helping people cope with the emotional and psychological impact of cancer alongside medical treatment.
Steve Warner, organiser of Race Night, shared his experience and the support he received from The Fern Centre:
“When I was diagnosed with cancer, I thought I could handle it on my own. While the treatment was manageable, I wasn’t coping with the mental side of things. Counselling at the Fern Centre helped me deal with the stress and uncertainty, and gave me a safe space to talk openly. It made a huge difference, and that’s why I wanted to give something back and support the centre.”
We were delighted to hear Steve speak about Race Night and The Fern Centre on The Voice Radio:
“I just wanted to mention the fact that we introduced a £200 event sponsorship fee this year. On day one, Lineal, who are based on The Strand and provides computer services for businesses, came forward and said they’d like to sponsor us. An hour later, that was followed by Savona Foodservice, who also came forward. I wanted to thank both Lineal and Savona for sponsoring the event. They were quite happy to share the sponsorship, meaning the charity received double the amount of money. They’ve done a great job, and we are very grateful. Lineal and Sarah at Savona Foodservice have been incredibly supportive.”
We’re proud to support such a fantastic community event and help raise funds for a cause that provides vital support to people living with cancer.
A special thank you to Steve for his kind words, and best wishes to everyone involved in making Race Night a success. Supporting our local community remains at the heart of what we do, and we’re always pleased to play our part.
