What keeps you busy Ken?
I’m responsible for making sure we have the resources, money and people that we need to do an excellent job and provide outstanding service.
Sounds like thirsty work?
Yes it is! I like to unwind with a glass of Rioja whilst watching some good Welsh rugby
How long have you been at Savona?
Nearly 5 years now. Before that I had a similar role at 2 similar businesses: Brakes and Watson & Philip
Kevin Holloway
Operations Director
Kevin is one of the original employees of Savona, from the days when Savona was known as Grandpont Bakery.
Kevin started his career Grandpont Bakery working for his father delivering bread to customers on foot. Apparently his brothers taped "duct tape" to his leg to stop bread basket rubbing on his legs whilst he was delivering bread (Kevin wore shorts in those days)!
Kevin has seen the company grow over the years and when Savona was sold to Ken Knowland in 2003, Kevin continued his important role with the company as Operations Director.
John Vokes
Sales Director
John has many years experience in the food service arena, managing independent and national accounts and the people involved within these sections.
In his spare time John enjoys spending time with his family and is a passionate sailor.
Mike Lathey
Depot Manager
Mike started work at Savona some 11 years ago as a forklift driver. He has worked his way up the ladder and is now responsible for controlling and maintaining the smooth operation of Savona's warehouse.
Mike is also responsible for the
purchasing of frozen goods and some ambient products.
Colin Turner
Accounts Manager
So, Colin, you oversee all the money that comes in to and goes out of Savona?
Yes, the best bit is getting nice cheques in the post. The worst bit is having to chase people, especially those whose dog has eaten the cheque book!
What do you like doing when you’re not at work?
Ringing church bells all over the world, holiday and reading.
Anything about you that a lot of folk don’t know?
I used to be in the Guinness book of records.
Gary Watts
Distribution Manager
Gary has worked in the food industry for 25 years covering all aspects from buying, selling and running a depot.
Gary joined the Savona Team 10 years ago and has now manages the transport team consisting of 20 drivers (HGV and 7.5 tonne) and 2 office based staff.
Gary enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
Jacqui Brown
Customer Service Manager
What’s the best bit of your job Jacqui?
Talking to our customers and making sure that our telesales team is fully motivated behind delivering a good standard of service.
What do you get up to at the weekend?
I spend time with my grand children and enjoy going out on our motorbike

Clothes shopping, cooking and cuddles
Martin 'Dibs' Dibsall
Late Shift Manager
What’s your role at Savona?
I manage a team of 8, making sure that the lorries are packed and loaded correctly for next day deliveries
What do you get up to when you’re not at work?
I like playing snooker and eating out. I used to do Judo at National championship level.
Richard Wye
Warehouse Manager (Day Shift)
Richard has many years experience in the foodservice industry, in particular with frozen food.
Richard is responsible for the day to day running of the day shift in the warehouse.
In his spare time Richard enjoys watching football, in particular Everton.
