Job Description
We are currently looking for a 7.5t Driver to play an important role in offering outstanding service to our customers. We pride ourselves on honest, transparent relationships both internally and with customers, and our entire operation is with a customer-centric focus, with the aim to maintain outstanding service.
You’ll be part of a close-knit team of multidrop drivers who work together to get the job done. This isn’t a lonely, long-distance driving role. You’ll be delivering great food and other catering products to a huge range of customers across the region. Once there, you’ll be delivering the goods straight to the chefs and managers who make the orders. You’ll also be the one transferring the goods from your lorry to the customer – on cages, pallets or by sack truck. Some orders can be very large and time consuming, so it’s a job with a real physical element.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all deliveries to customers within the given timescales.
- Complete all daily vehicle checks and follow the correct defect reporting procedures.
- To complete documentation accurately and clearly.
- Always operate the vehicle in a safe and economical manner ensuring that it is maintained in a clean and tidy state.
- Effectively communicate problems and delays to all relevant parties.
- Safely loading and unloading whilst complying with the correct procedure for given location.
- Maintain a full knowledge of the Highway Code, Working Time Directive, EU Drivers Hours Regulations and vehicle operations.
- To ensure all Legal Health and Safety legislation and Operational procedures are always adhered to and to always work within Health and Safety Guidelines, ensuring the safety of themselves and others.
- To work within other areas/departments within the company as requested by Management from time to time.
- To maintain a positive and caring attitude towards customers whilst delivering to their premises.
- To keep up to date with company news and instructions by reading notices and memos.
- To ensure all personnel procedures are adhered to and completed as required.
- Previous experience in multidrop Wholesale Food Distribution is an advantage but not essential
If you have a Cat C1 Driving Licence, Good customer facing skills, polite and friendly manner and are physically fit, we would like to hear from you.
Start times between 5.30 am to 2.15 pm Monday to Friday with an opportunity for overtime.
This job role will require a Basic DBS Check
