Job description

Reporting to the Customer Fulfilment Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the tasks within the warehouse late shift operation. You will be hands-on, working closely with your supervisors to develop the team, whilst ensuring that the departmental and depot targets are met.

Savona Foodservice maintains large warehouses at every depot to accommodate a diverse array of food items. Prior to visiting any of our depots, please contact us if you have any food product intolerances.

Role & Responsibilities:

Through effective management and development of the warehouse operative team, you will ensure that all goods are picked, packed and vehicles loaded accurately to ensure our distribution colleagues and customers receive the best service achievable.

  • Plan and schedule the shift’s work, assigning activities to the team.
  • Hold start of shift briefs.
  • Coach, lead & develop all members of the warehouse team.
  • Set standards and implement effective people performance targets.
  • Identify training requirements and process changes.
  • Ensure, manage and monitor required staffing levels.
 

Ensuring compliance of government regulations including accountability for the depot, warehouse H & S, HAACP and food safety.

Skills & Knowledge Specification

Essential

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy skills.
  • Excellent PC and systems Literacy.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience of WMS systems.

You will need experience in implementing change and continuous improvement, be commercially astute, with 3 years’ management experience within a warehouse operation. Can show resilience, staying positive in difficult situations and naturally embrace an inclusive working environment and be committed to doing the right thing. You will be an excellent planner and be skilled at working to both tight budgets and tight timescales.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

  • Warehouse experience: 1 year (preferred)
